By using ShipCalc you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Estimates for planning

ShipCalc's calculators and route pages give estimates for planning and comparison. They are not commercial, legal, regulatory or compliance advice, and not a navigational product. Do not use them as the only basis for a charter, a voyage, a budget, an emissions report or an allowance surrender. Your verified MRV and DCS data, your verifier, your flag state and the official texts decide.

Data and accuracy

• Sea distances are estimates from a model of the main shipping lanes. They ignore draft limits, traffic separation schemes, weather routing and canal waiting, and can differ from the distance a ship sails.
• CII and EU ETS results follow the IMO resolutions and EU legislation listed on the about page. Rules change; a page may not yet reflect the latest amendment.
• The EUA price is updated by hand and can be out of date. You can enter your own price.

Disclaimer of warranties

ShipCalc and all digital products are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind. We explicitly disclaim any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the calculators or data models are completely accurate, error-free, or fully compliant with all current maritime regulations.

Limitation of liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL SHIPCALC OR ITS CREATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, DEMURRAGE, FUEL OR ALLOWANCE COSTS, AND PENALTIES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE SITE OR THE PRODUCTS.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Paid products

ShipCalc may sell downloadable products, such as spreadsheet models. Payment is handled by our reseller, which is the merchant of record and whose terms also apply to the purchase.

• Company licence. One purchase licenses the whole buying company: its employees may use the product for the company's internal work, on any number of computers. You may not resell, publish or share the product outside your company.
• Version. Each product states the date up to which it reflects the rules. Free corrections are available as described on the product page.
• Refunds. All sales of digital downloads are final once the file has been delivered. Refunds are not given for compatibility problems with older spreadsheet software. If you find an error in a product's calculations, tell us and we will correct it or give you a full refund.

The "estimates for planning" terms above apply to paid products too.

Using the content

You may use results from the calculators in your own work and link to any page. Please do not copy the site's pages or data in bulk.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
